IT apprentice for system integration
I chose an apprenticeship as an IT specialist for system integration, because I’m interested in how computers, servers and networks operate and I find it fun to work on these systems.
Starting my apprenticeship at Transmission Systems (formerly Getrag) was the best decision I could have made. It didn’t take long for me to feel comfortable on the IT team, because they were so friendly when they took me in.
If I have problems or questions, I can rely on my colleagues. They are there to listen, glad to help and support me in many areas. Important for me: At Transmission Systems, they treat apprentices with respect.
Right at the beginning of my apprenticeship, I was involved in major projects and was given real responsibility. If you think an apprenticeship is all about dry theory, you’ve got the wrong idea. At Transmission Systems, you learn by doing. Besides that, the work in IT covers a very broad scope: configuring hardware, installing software, patching switches, dealing with user issues, and much more. My knowledge grows every day, whether by introducing new systems, troubleshooting, or general questions involving IT. I really find the work fun, and every day I learn something new and interesting for my future.
Our international collaboration with more than 20 development centers and production sites in Europe, Asia and North America gives us countless opportunities to work with colleagues from around the world, and to get to know other cultures.
I’m glad I chose this company and look forward to a future here.
