GETRAG transmissions have been in use around the world for many decades. According to forecasts, demand for our products will continue to increase over the coming years: because the car is an important feature of an increasing quality of life, especially in rapidly developing countries. For us, this implies a responsibility to offer resource-efficient, durable and low-maintenance products.

GETRAG works on development and production for many well-known automobile manufacturers and offers the widest range of automotive transmission products in the world.

System supplier and integration partner

With well over 1,000 engineers, we are the system supplier and integration partner for all drivetrain components. We are also an important engineering partner for our customers. Thanks to our innovative strength, our transmissions will be a part of all future drive technologies.

Global Platform Strategy

With our dual clutch transmissions, we are focusing on an important market trend: greater driving comfort with high efficiency and low fuel consumption. In development and production, we pursue a platform strategy: GETRAG transmissions are graded according to the number of gears and the maximum torque to be transmitted, and are modular. This means our dual clutch transmissions can be adapted for different drive types. For example, they can be used with a combustion engine and, with just a few modifications, for a hybrid drive too.

With a modular platform architecture, we can offer the right product for a wide variety of engine types, traffic situations and driving behaviours in various markets worldwide. Greater efficiency in production leads to a price advantage over other types of transmission.
