From family business to a global corporation
From family business to global corporation – that is the path that GETRAG has taken in 83 since it was established.
In 1935, the then 21-year-old Hermann Hagenmeyer took over the Pfeiffer Works in Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
Purchasing this company laid the foundation for GETRAG. The company was established as an AG and a short time later converted into a KG. In 2016 GETRAG was acquired by Magna and thus we have become part of one of the world's largest automotive suppliers.
Our company’s history falls into three chapters:
Today, GETRAG combines the values and the creative freedom of a family business with the capabilities and reach of a global corporation.
We are represented worldwide with sites. Our colleagues from all departments work on-site and closely with the customers in all important automotive markets. With their expertise, we can quickly and flexibly react to market requirements and compensate for fluctuations in individual markets. Just like the global automotive market, our teams also have an intercultural setup.
In all the regions where we are represented, our employees and our company benefit from this powerful combination.
