Business economics student at the DHBW (Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University)
After completing my apprenticeship as an industrial manager, I decided to go to college and deepen my knowledge in business economics. I was only interested in the dual degree program, because I think it’s a big advantage to put what you learn into practice right away. With the goal of making my career at a big international company, I chose Transmission Systems (formerly Getrag). The departments are perfectly suited to the degree curriculum at Baden-Württemberg Dual University, so that you’re perfectly integrated and supported in project tasks and daily business. So far, I’ve gained experience in logistics at our plant in Neuenstein, in corporate communications and in direct purchasing. I find it exciting to learn all the practical aspects of the new fields and how they work together. I’m especially happy with my three-month overseas assignment at our site in China, which Transmission Systems has really supported.
At first, I found transmissions a very complex product, but various training sessions have made them more and more familiar. It’s a great experience to participate in and learn from meetings and customer or supplier discussions. In other words, it’s definitely not boring at Transmission Systems!
The theory phase at the Baden-Württemberg Dual University in Stuttgart has a tough schedule, so it shouldn’t be underestimated. But the small classes make it easy to make contacts and exchange ideas. Anyone looking for a practical, interesting learning system is guaranteed to make the right choice with a dual degree program.
Transmission Systems guarantees that they’ll hire us dual-degree students, which really motivates me to show my worth in every department and contribute to the company.
