How can I apply and which method of application does GETRAG prefer?
Ideally, you should apply via our online application system. This method is fast and reliable, both for you and for us. Naturally, we also accept applications by post and e-mail. Precise contact details are provided in each job advertisement and in the unsolicited application section.
Why does GETRAG prefer online applications?
Your information is processed more efficiently that way – even if the relevant contact partner is off sick or out of the office. Hence, we can also provide a faster response.

Which browser is the best for using GETRAG’s application system?
Any standard browser such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.
What do I do if I have forgotten my password?
You can reset the password. Just go to our career portal an press the button "forgot your password."
I would like to apply for several jobs or locations. Is that possible?
When you apply via our online application system, you create a profile. If you want to apply for several positions with us, you can use the information from your profile and adapt it for each job.
You can also submit an unsolicited application, in which you can specify several areas of interests and/or locations. In both types of application (direct or unsolicited), you can update and adapt your profile for subsequent applications.

How long does the application process take and when can I expect an answer?
The entire process takes about four to six weeks. You will receive confirmation that we have received your application as soon as it reaches the relevant personnel officer. You can check the status of your application at any time via your applicant profile.
How long before my desired start date should I apply?
When a job is advertised, you should not wait too long if you are interested. It is important that you always tell us your earliest possible start date (this also applies for unsolicited applications). Ideally, you should apply about 3 to 6 months before your desired start date.
If you are interested in an apprenticeship at GETRAG, you should apply approximately one year before the apprenticeship start date.
To whom should I send my application?
Always to the contact person specified in the job advertisement. All unsolicited applications should be submitted via our online application system and need not be addressed to any specific contact person.

Can I reapply after a rejection?
Of course! You can reapply with GETRAG at any time. Having an application rejected does not mean you are not suitable for us generally. However, we recommend you carefully read the required qualifications listed in the job advertisement.
Who can provide further assistance if I cannot find the right answer in the “Careers” section of the GETRAG website or if I have questions about the details of a vacancy?
For every vacancy posted, the relevant contact person is stated in the job advertisement. For questions not relating to a particular vacancy, the details for the personnel specialist you need to contact can be found here .
Can I speak directly with GETRAG employees about possible career opportunities within the company?
You are welcome to visit us at our recruitment events. We look forward to meeting you in person.
What does willingness to travel mean?
In this case, future employees will also be required to travel to other GETRAG locations, customers or suppliers. We would be happy to discuss what this means for the particular position during the job interview.
What happens to my data after my application?

What language skills do I need for a successful application at GETRAG?
Depends on the job: at our German sites, preferably fluent German.
As we are a global company, we communicate in English in our transnational projects, e.g. with our colleagues in Italy, Mexico or China. With our international management team, also in German locations, you need to be competent in the English language.
What opportunities for development does GETRAG offer?

Can I also gain experience abroad with GETRAG?
Many of our projects involve inter-site and transnational collaboration. This means that exchange between people from different cultures is important and is often a part of daily work life. Employees who wish to work abroad should discuss the long-term prospects of doing so with their managers. If, for example, GETRAG establishes a new site abroad, often employees from Germany will work there temporarily.
If, prior to your application, you are interested in a particular location abroad, you can apply directly for a job in the country where you would like to be located.
