Our first US site in Newton, North Carolina was founded in 1983. Since then, the GETRAG Corporation has stepped up its American presence a gear with four more sites in North and South Carolina as well as Michigan. Newton-based GETRAG Axle Plant and our GETRAG Engineering Center in Sterling Heights, Michigan focus on axles for the automotive industry; GETRAG Precision Gear in Charleston is dedicated to timing gears for diesel engines.

The newly-founded GETRAG Americas (GETRAG Transmissions Corporation in Sterling Heights, GETRAG Transmission Manufacturing LLC in Tipton Indiana, GETRAG Transmissions Manufacturing de Mèxico S.A. de C.V. in Irapuato) manufactures, and sells a ground-breaking dual clutch transmission, the GETRAG PowerShift® transmissions and represents a major expansion into the US and NAFTA markets. GETRAG Americas is preparing to deliver these transmissions in high volumes to customers desiring a competitive advantage in their vehicles. With a Headquarters and Engineering Center in the Detroit metropolitan area as well as new manufacturing facilities under construction in Tipton, Indiana and planned for Mexico, GETRAG Americas promises a number of opportunities for candidates looking to join a fast-paced, focused, and flexible organization driven by passion.
