In 1976 Ford Motor Company established a production site for manual transmissions in Bordeaux. In 2001 the cogs of Ford’s three manual transmission plants in Bordeaux, Halewood (UK) and Cologne (Germany) began turning together as a 50:50 joint venture between Ford of Europe and GETRAG. And GETRAG FORD Transmissions was created.

The GETRAG FORD Transmissions plant in France is based in Blanquefort, just ten miles north of the UNESCO World Heritage city of Bordeaux.

Known the world over for excellent wine, Bordeaux is proud of its reputation for traditional business combined with a contemporary approach. And GETRAG FORD Transmissions sits right at the heart of Bordeaux’s high-tech industry.
